There are a lot of ‘42 models that are amazing and then got (to use a video game term) nerfed when they were re-upped for the ‘46 model year. Like the Continental:

The ‘46 Olds is mostly just a restyle, but actually ended up with a more iconic look. One of few:

It is sad that all these great designs go south after the war. The Continental is the greatest tragedy of all.
